Choosing the Best ClickBank Affiliate Program

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Remember what I said in the post Earn Money Online With ClickBank? It ended like ... promote all sorts of junk. Choose products that are really going to help people out. The last thing you want them doing is asking for a refund ...

It will really suck if you are promoting all sorts of junk that will not sell nor help people make something out of themselves. Choosing the right product or as people say the right niche is the first important thing that you must do. There are many ways of choosing the right affiliate program and this is what this article is all about.

If you do a search in the market place, you will notice that there are stats like $earned/sale: $25.45, %earned/sale: 75%, referred: 70%, gravity: 154 and so on. The most important stats that you need to look at apart from the knowing that it is a product people are going to buy is the gravity score, %referred and the % earned. You will need to aim for affiliate programs that payout more than 50% commission and with at least 60% referred customers. Those stats will tell you how popular the product is amongst other affiliates. The gravity is not of importance but a higher number means you stand a good chance of earning an income from that affiliate program especially if you join it whilst it just launched.

If you are not sure if your niche is hot enough, you can do a little research on

  • Google Keyword Tool and have a look at the search volumes
  • Google Trends and see the trending topics
  • SemRush and see the websites you have to compete with for a keyword
  • Amazon best selling products page and see if your niche is amongst them
  • High traffic shopping websites like eBay and Yahoo
If you want to jump into the ClickBank best sellers, you should go to ClickBank Analytics or ClickBank Trends and check out the stats. The downside of this method is that you will probably be a bit late because the competition would have stepped up by then. I would suggest that you join a hot niche while the competition is still low. This way, you will be ahead of the other affiliate marketers joining your program late.

I will say this again just in case you had forgotten. Promote an affiliate product that people will want to buy, not junk! Nobody wants to waste their time putting in so much effort just to promote junk affiliate programs and make no sales, it is wrong and embarrassing!
